Seems like every time you bump the FPD tree, bad apples fall like poisoned rats.  Here is a reminder of the corruption within the ranks of the Fullerton Police Department, protected by their union president Barry Coffman.

OC Register excuse for a journalist, and notorious bad-cop-story-misser, Lou Ponsi, really outdid himself today with a ridiculous “story” about all the excuses his pals on the force heard from folks who wanted to dodge a traffic citation. Real tough, hard-hitting piece there, Lou.

I wonder if Ponzi will ever tire of writing stupid fluff pieces for one of the most notorious police forces in California. I also wonder if writing salacious cop-accounts of wanton females is the best story line, given the well-documented behavior of FPD serial sex batterer Albert Rincon, whose activities were essentially known, and condoned by the department.

Anyhoo, that’s all introductory to my own version of a real human interest piece, something of which we are all too familiar, by now. And that’s the excuses doled out by the cops themselves to try to explain away their own malfeasance – crap subsequently sucked up by drones like Ponsi. Enjoy.

1. He was running.

2. He was fighting.

3. He disobeyed a legal command.

4. He was reaching for his “waistband” (whatever that is).

5. That donut was supposed to be jelly-filled.

6. We put our lives on the line every day.

7. Our belts weigh 80 pounds.

8. We die at average 53 years old.

9. We try to arrest the right guy.

10. He thought he was beating up the right guy.

11. That’s POBR covered. Can’t talk about it.

12. It was not just honking. It was excessive horning.

13. No, it’s not tax deductible, but give us your money anyway, you’ll get a decal.

14. The job stress hooked me on those pills.

15. I just set my bag of chicken on that iPad. After that I don’t know what happened.

16. I got mad at my DAR and smashed it against the wall.

17. We slammed his head against the bars as we removed the dead body.

18. Those ladies weren’t like you.

19. Just wait to see the video. You’ll change your minds. I’ve seen it 400 times.

20. There were broken bones.

21. There was only one, maybe two deeply involved.

22. He was breaking into cars.

23. He was high on PCP.

24. He was a gang banger.

25. I feared for my safety.

26. The 90 pound girl with the jack knife entered the 22 foot radius so we had to shoot her 18 times.

27. Ron Thomas was never a deputy sheriff.

28. He was just a smelly bum.

29. The free sandwiches and beers are just a small perk for an otherwise unrewarding job.

30. My second wife doesn’t understand me and my girlfriend just wants a chunk of that pension.

31. It was suicide by cop.

32. He was a terrorist.

33. It was just a bong from the evidence room. It’s not like i was going to use it or anything.

34. Once you take a guided tour of the station you’ll feel differently about everything.

35. it was really all just a misunderstanding.

36. They are either misinformed or lying.

The Republican Candidate?? Are you F'ing Kidding Me?!?!

Following in the footsteps of his idol Dick Ackerman, Larry's nose continues to grow with tall tales and delusions of grandeur.  His latest little white lie is kind of big for Republicans.  You see Larry sent a message to Fullerton Republicans in which he claims to be "The Republican Candidate" which sounds a lot like a guy trying to claim an endorsement he could not get.

Larry asked the OC Republican Party, damn near begging them, for an endorsement.  No one would make the motion.  Not one Republican in the Orange County Central Committee would stand up and make a motion to endorse Larry.  Not one.  In fact Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson reportedly stood up at the meeting and recommended against any endorsement.

On the other hand, Sean Paden did receive a nomination and second.  He was supported by at least half of the Central Committee (OCGOP) but it takes a 2/3 vote of support to win the GOP endorsement.

In fact, there are 7 candidates running, two of which are not Republicans.  Larry is a member of the Party just like Bill Chaffee, Rick Alvarez, Greg Sebourn, and Sean Paden.  The only candidate to win the Republican Party endorsement was Sebourn.

Recently it has come to light that Bennett, the Ackerman Candidate, is working a police union slate with Democrat Doug Chaffee.  The self-proclaimed and anointed Republican is a union hack and Democrat supporter!

For Fullerton's Christian right-wing this will certainly be the last straw.  After being duped by the likes of current councilwoman Jennifer Fitzgerald two years ago and her constant support of the Democratic-led council, the BS meter is sufficiently pegged.

• Endorsed by the Fullerton Police Union
• Working with Democrat Doug Chaffee
• Ran the failed Recall No campaign 
• Endorsed by the same dipsticks you recalled in 2012
• Supported keeping the illegal water tax and $6-million in illegal revenue
• Supports high-density housing
• Supports Fullerton's Folly, a $140-million trolley down Commonwealth

Ackerman Pulls Liberal Democrat's Wool Over Republican Party

Dick Ackerman, aka "Tricky Dicky",  vouched for the leftist Democrat Doug Chaffee at a recent fundraiser for Doug that was hosted by Renick Cadillac (James & Leonard Renick) .  Now Orange County Republicans are re-thinking the motives behind the heir-apparent chair of the OCGOP.

Ackerman, a career politician and member of the GOP's old guard, took some time off from helping his party so he could pinch hit for the Democrats on behalf of Fullerton's leftist mayor.

Maybe when current OCGOP chair Scott Baugh steps down the above image will be mounted on poster board for the Republican Central Committee.  They should know who the traitors are within their party.

As you might recall (pun intended), crony-capitalist Ackerman was the puppet master of Larry Bennett (currently running on a slate with Chaffee) who chaired the doomed RECALL NO campaign in 2012.  Ackerman has been known as the Fullerton King-Maker after giving us the dipsticks mentioned in the previous post- Don "I'm Just Resting My Eyes" Bankhead, Dick "Don't Step On Your Weeny" Jones, and Pat "Pat Down Pat" McKinley.  Ackerman was also the lobbyist behind the OC Fair Grounds land grab and the former taxpayer funded ($11.5-mill) RDA monstrosity of Saint Anton Partners on Santa Fe.  Its purported he was "let go" from the law firm shortly after these lobbying efforts came to light.

The next time you are in the market for a Cadillac or Subaru, you might want to think about whose pocket you are lining.

I'm out of town and off the grid for a few weeks and return to find the Fullerton recall passed in a landslide victory and new faces elected. I should go away more often.

I have high hopes for the new council.  The world is watching and they had better get it right.

From the Fullerton's Future blog and newspapers, it looks like the FPD had better straighten up, like yesterday, if they want to keep their jobs.  The FPD can be recalled too.

State Controller Not Happy with Judge's Ruling

State Controller John Chiang issued the following statement in response to today's tentative ruling regarding Proposition 25:
"Voters passed Proposition 25 because they're tired of the Legislature's chronic inability to pass a balanced budget by the June 15 constitutional deadline. The initiative was clear – no balanced, on-time budget, no pay for lawmakers.
"The court's tentative ruling flies in the face of the voters' will by allowing legislators to keep their salaries flowing by simply slapping the title 'budget act' on a sheet of paper by June 15. Adopting an unbalanced and unfinanceable budget may ensure they are paid, but the people of California will be stuck with delayed payments and IOUs once that 'budget' falls apart.
"I will review options with the Attorney General to determine the next steps."

Fullerton selling out to "affordable" housing

It's been awhile since we have posted but with a Fullerton City Council meeting scheduled for 6 tonight,we though we should tell you about their big developer giveaways.

There are 2 items on the agenda that should be a drop-kick to your head and your pocket book.

Items 5 and 6 are affordable housing money pits funded by taxpayers.  They're also completely unnecessary.

There was a time when Fullerton's Redevelopment Agency was obligated by state law to allocate funding for affordable housing but not so anymore with new state law.  These un-affordable housing projects are being pushed to spite you, the taxpayer.

These collectively bad RDA ideas will cost you $60 million.   

Taxpayers and voters need to shut the door on these quasi-redevelopment projects that have no place in Fullerton or our taxes.

Close the door on redevelopment boondoggles forever with a vote to recall Jones, Bankhead, and McKinley.  

Show up at tonight's meeting and tell them to hit the road with their bag of RDA tricks and schemes.  

Is Fullerton Doomed?

There are so many things that eat at me.

Sometimes its little; sometimes big.  I guess I'm just wired that way.

Today I am upset with Fullerton.  I conduct most of my business in Fullerton and contribute heavily to the tax base. 

So, when I had a chance to sign the recall petition, I did.  All three. 

The Three Idiots, Three Blind Mice, Three Senile Imbeciles, whatever you call them, are on there way out. 

And what is bothering me is knowing that there are at least three more well-funded, well connected insiders ready to step up and fill those seats.  That scares the hell out of me and it should do the same to you. 

When the signatures are counted, who will be throwing their hat into a race to manage and spend YOUR money.  My money. 

I learned my lesson and will never vote for another public employee to the Fullerton City Council.  No more school teachers.  No more cops.  No firemen or retired city employees.

And NO attorneys!  Nelson was good (though flawed) but no more.  No more wills & trusts characters.  No more real estate people either- trust me! 

For crying out loud- can't we just get a good person to watch over Fullerton? Is it that hard?

I hope you will join me in supporting a moratorium on political hacks, banksters, public employees, and the city hall insiders.

Let's find someone who can do the job and not screw us over. 

Even Rape Is Not Reason Enough to Murder an Unborn Child

SAN CLEMENTE – For 77 years she kept it hidden inside.

Her secret.


Each May 22, Minka Disbrow silently wished a happy birthday to the baby girl she gave away in 1929. How is she, Disbrow wondered. Where is she? Who is she?


But there was no way of knowing. Not after what happened so long ago.

Back then, no one talked about sex. Or pregnancy. Or 16-year-old girls who were raped among the small dairy farms of South Dakota. So Disbrow bottled up her secret deep inside.

And kept it there.

Months turned into years. Years into decades. Until Disbrow woke up May 22, 2006, and after wishing happy birthday to her little girl, she prayed: Lord, if you would just let me see Betty Jane, I won't bother her, I promise. I just want to see her before I die.

Some might consider it a fool's prayer. Disbrow was 94. And her baby girl, if still alive, would be 77.

To meet would take a miracle.



SCATTERWOOD LAKE

She hauled water from a well. Used an outhouse for a toilet. Rode a horse-drawn sled to church in winter.

"At age 6, we had to pick mustard and potatoes in the field," says Disbrow, who also fed pigs and milked cows before walking to school. Chores increased after eighth grade.

High school is for city kids with nothing to do, said her stepdad, who kept Disbrow home to work.

You can imagine her delight to be invited to a picnic the summer of her 16th year. It was held at Scatterwood Lake with girls from a local sewing class.

Let's go for a walk, said her friend Elizabeth.

They meandered along the South Dakota lake – unaware of three men watching. Approaching.

The attack came fast. Its violence was foreign to a girl who still believed storks delivered babies.

"We couldn't go back and say we were raped," Disbrow says. "We were paralyzed. We never said anything."

She had no one to tell. No one to comfort her. No one to explain what happened. Nothing but cows that needed milking and milk that needed bottling and bottles that needed washing.

Nothing but chores.

"You just kept it all in your heart," she says.

Until her belly started to grow.



BETTY JANE

She was sent to the Lutheran Home for Girls in Sioux Falls, S.D.

"My mother and stepfather made up their minds, I was not to come home with a baby," says Disbrow.

It was there, someone finally explained what had happened and what would happen.

Betty Jane was born May 22, 1929, with a dimple on her chin and a good home waiting for her in Iowa.

"She was my darling," says Disbrow, who spent a month with her baby before being sent home.

Back on the farm, she milked cows each morning, worked in a slaughterhouse all day and faced more chores at night. Then, in the quiet of her room, she would write letters to the Lutheran home asking about her baby.

How is my Betty Jane? she wrote in one letter. Any word from her adoptive parents? I hope she's being a good girl.

Our holiday would be complete, she wrote in another, if we were to just get word about Betty Jane.

But of course, she couldn't.

And so the months turned into years. The years into decades. Until Disbrow woke up May 22, 2006, and prayed to see the little girl she gave away in 1929.

A fool's prayer?

Within days, a South Dakota court granted permission to a 77-year-old woman in Viroqua, Wis., to see some records she sought about her adoption.

It was at the Lutheran Home for Girls in Sioux Falls, S.D.

In 1929.



RUTH

Disbrow's phone rang six weeks after her prayer.

Do you know anything about Betty Jane? a man asked. Or Sioux Falls?

"Yes," said Disbrow. "But who are you?"

I'm the son of your daughter, he said. Would you like to talk to your daughter? To Betty Jane?

"My knees buckled," recalls Disbrow.

She learned that her baby girl, now named Ruth Lee, was married and had six children – including astronaut Mark Lee who'd flown into space four times.

She also learned how her prayer was answered: Ruth recently had undergone heart surgery and thought it wise to find her birth mother's health records. Her search uncovered Disbrow's letters and, eventually, the fact that Disbrow was still alive.

"I got goose bumps all over my body," Ruth recalls. "I just didn't expect that."

Finally, after 77 years apart, mother and daughter would meet. And Disbrow's secret would come out.

"Oh my goodness," she fretted. "What are people going to think? My own family doesn't know."

Right away, she called a daughter in Portland, Ore., to explain. Her secret gushed out – as it did, a joy overtook the pain.

"I never heard her so excited," says Dianna Huhn, 65, of Portland, one of two children Disbrow had from her marriage to Eugene Disbrow. "And from that day on, I have never seen my mom so happy."

Disbrow's family, friends and church all embraced her story. Grown men cried when she described it at Heritage Christian Fellowship in San Clemente.

And when mother and daughter met?

"It was like we'd known each other all our lives," says Ruth Lee, now 82.

"It was like we never parted," says Disbrow, who recently told this story to friends at her 100th birthday party.

Immediately after, Disbrow prayed again. She thanked God. She forgave the man who raped her. And she wondered something about him for the first time:

"I wondered if he ever watched the space shuttle take off, not knowing that perhaps one of those he was watching was his grandson."

Pat McKinley's Incredulous and Insensitive Remarks

Fullerton Councilman and former Fullerton Police Chief Pat McKinley spoke to the Brea Soroptimist Club meeting about self-defense.  The YouTube video below documents a taste of this condescending elected official who thinks a woman's socio-economic status should dictate her worthiness of protection under the law. 

The councilman and former chief actually articulates that the woman Fullerton cop Albert Rincon assaulted were not like the women in the audience and were therefore less credible victims.

Shame on Pat McKinley and shame on the boobs who elected him.

Fullerton City Hall Epicenter Corruption

Fullerton management closely resembles the 1989 Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder film Hear See No Evil, Hear No Evil.

The Fullerton Association of Concerned Taxpayers (FACT) posted a video of Fullerton Council Member Bruce Whitaker talking about the lack of communication and transparency at City Hall.

Whitaker tells of lies, falsified reports, and stonewalling department heads.  Misinformation seems to be the order of the day.

What is it about our City Hall that attracts corruption?

For some reason, city staff seem to think they are in charge of Fullerton.


Long overdue, the City Council needs to begin systematically firing department heads beginning with City Manager Joe Felz. 

If the City Council boobs wont do it, let's show them the door.  A new City Council won't be so tolerant of corruption.

Another Bar in Downtown Fullerton

As if the dozens of existing bars in Downtown Fullerton were not enough, yet another is poised to open.

Last night, the Fullerton Planning Commission unanimously gave the green light to the nightclub which is taking over the old Spadra Restaurant next to the Slidebar.  The owners plan to expand the patio and make minor interior changes.

The plans include having beer taps at several tables so that customers can pour their own drinks. 

In a town where some of our greatest expense and liability is the direct result of providing college students and dropouts with alcohol, it might be time to re-think City plans to continue this growing trend. 

City staff assert that the City has the resources to manage another watering hole.  With as many as ten Fullerton Police Officers taken off patrol in recent months for varying degrees of misconduct it is unclear just how the City will manage another 200 drunks in Downtown Fullerton. 

Good job Fullerton!

GRAPHIC WARNING - Judge Kills Texas Sonogram Law

(AP) AUSTIN, Texas — A federal judge on Tuesday struck down key provision of Texas' new law requiring a doctor to perform a sonogram before an abortion, ruling that the measure violates the free speech rights of both doctors and patients.


The law — one of dozens of anti-abortion measures that advanced through state capitals across the United States this year — was set to take effect Thursday.

A New York-based reproductive rights group had sued to block the law.

U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks said in his ruling that requiring a doctor to show women images from the sonogram and the sounds of the fetal heartbeat violates the First Amendment rights of doctors.

The ruling also struck down a requirement that allows women to avoid seeing the sonogram images only if they sign a statement that they are pregnant because of sexual assault or incest. The state cannot compel a woman to disclose such private information that she may not even wish to tell police, Sparks ruled.

Sparks ruled such disclosure is an attempt by the state to "permanently brand women who choose to get an abortion."

Newt Gingrich, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives wrote, "Jim paid the price of political defeat for insisting that elected officials uphold the Rule of Law. During the mid-1990's Rogan kept copious notes during every significant meeting related to impeachment efforts of former President Clinton. SB 48 in a Nutshell

SB 48 will teach children as young as five to not only accept but also endorse transgenderism, bisexuality, and homosexuality through our social sciences curriculum including history, history books and instructional materials. The media and others call SB 48 the "Gay History Bill," however, SB 48 goes even further. The bill casts a wide-reaching net that includes all social sciences like economics, government, and cultural and social anthropology.

Furthermore, SB 48 ties the hands of teachers and administrators at the local level and often contradicts what students are taught at home. It also requires teachers and administrators to enter into the divisive debate over sexual orientation and morality and to portray only one side of that debate. Essentially teachers and administrators are being asked not to tolerate but to advocate.
